Over 400 students participate in intercultural education workshops being offered at different schools in the town through the Municipal Immigration Service of the Department of Social Welfare, to promote the elimination of prejudices and stereotypes school.
Municipal Immigration Service of the Department of Social Welfare is conducting since last January this type of intercultural education workshops in schools Elementary and secondary education in the municipality with the aim of promoting the elimination of prejudices and stereotypes school children work with intercultural communication as a way to resolve and prevent conflicts caused by cultural differences.
Also, through these educational workshops is intended that students become aware of global issues and how they impact locally, from an intercultural perspective and enhance the sense of solidarity and tolerance and generate participatory group processes.
This activity is part of the actions envisaged in the Plan for the integration and coexistence of migrants from the town of Totana and will be held until June.
The workshops take place in one session per year, focusing on Primary 6 and 1, 2 Secondary, adjusted to the hours of tutoring.
