On Sunday 25 January took place one of the most emblematic club of Totana walker: The ascent of Espuña Peppers.
The route started at 7 and a half from the gate of the city of Totana, where he attended a total of 242 people and 3 dogs, which in just 10 minutes of waiting began along the promenade of La Santa and Canico the 4 th edition of the Subida al Peppers.
The route ran along the path of the Turret, the Rambla de La Santa and the Raft of the box, to access the area from the tap.
From there, escorted by the Guardia Civil and Civil Protection, the walkers went a stretch of 2 ½ miles of road to reach the area of Tanganeras, where Ecuador was reached in the test site of the farms where 7 members of the organization of the club offered to all participants a broth with short balls and come to recharge.
After the short break of 30 minutes, the walkers resumed the tour to the hill in the Path of the Piton de la Solana, was the first climb of the day demanding and in some participants, fatigue began to show up.
About one quarter, as planned by the organizers, all participants were already in the Carrasca, just ahead was the feared rise in the pipeline and a pleasant walk along the road to the summit.
Despite having a leisurely pace, the differences among the first participants and the tail of the bunch was over 30 minutes in a mile stretch of 400 meters.
At 2 pm nearly all the participants arrived at the Tower of explorers, at the gates of the Military Base Peppers, to 1580 meters, after passing a long but wonderful journey of 21 miles and 1250 vertical meters .
The Sendero de Totana club wishes to acknowledge the presence of Guardia Civil, Local Police and Civil Protection, which play an invaluable role in the security of the route, when it was passing through areas of asphalt.
The next output of this club will be the next February 8, will travel to the highlands of Murcia, to ascend to the mountains of Carche.
The route will have 14 miles and ascend 777 meters of altitude.
At the end of the day Shining Path will be a guided tour through the wine cellar the Chapel House.
