The Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, has signed an agreement for the promotion of equality of opportunity and treatment for women victims of gender violence counselor Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana by which the City Council receive 61,000 euros in grants.
The Consistory totanero has received 15,000 euros for the program of the Centre for the Care of Victims of Violence (CAVI), which will start shortly.
The center aims to provide comprehensive and continuing this problem, so that women are capable of overcoming the effects of abuse, and face life independently, giving them social skills and psychological stability necessary for it.
The mayor said after signing the agreement, which must be conditioned space in order to serve women victims of violence living in the town of Totana, from different professional approaches (legal, social and psychological) according to protocols action.
In this regard, Martínez Andreo said to be hiring three technicians (one psychologist, legal and social worker) who will be responsible for advising the users of CAVI.
In addition, the Autonomous Region will allocate 46,028 euros for aid to developing services and implementing equal opportunity programs.
This amount will be allocated to the financing of two courses of action; 21,000 euros to hire an agent for equity and EUR 25,028 for the achievement of concrete projects.
In signing the agreement, which was attended by 42 mayors of the municipalities of the Community will also receive grants and held at the Palacio de San Esteban in Murcia, policy makers have set the main priorities in this area which will be coordinated by the Institute of Women of the Region of Murcia.
