Totana City Council intends to finalize this week the arrangement works for damage caused by leakage in one of the walls in the Rambla de La Santa and causing evacuations coming into the channel of this infrastructure.

Work began late last week after the Segura basin (CHS) authorized permits necessary and relevant to the Consistory to execute such action.

These leaks had occurred in recent weeks the appearance of water into the channel of the Rambla de La Santa, at two different points on one side of the infrastructure as it passes through the town of Totana.

Municipal technicians have found that the water came pouring into the ravine, mostly birth of the Vault that supplied washer and Balsa Vieja and dese years is channeled through the sewage to the treatment plant.

The works, initially thought that the damage was caused by blockage in the sewer, they have basically been the restoration of more than a meter of pipe was cracked and sunk;

and it has been replaced by another PVC.

In addition, it has used for cleaning the tubing in a wide stretch of the route of the pipeline and will complete with stuffing Rush excavation to locate the damage and the restoration of the pavement and the wall of the ravine itself.

The state of the wall had been dragging since 2011 without having been given a final settlement by the previous municipal government.

The work had certain complexity since the action was to be run on a mandatory basis from within the channel of the Rambla, through the walls of this infrastructure, instead of breaking the track causing more inconvenience to residents and users in the area.

The leaks did not come from sewage drain, hence not generate stench;

but mostly water from the Dome, in the area of Canico.

The action has been delayed a bit because it was a complicated action that required the authorization of the CHS to undertake it from the bed of the wadi and not through the sidewalks and the street itself.
