Totana City Council has already submitted a dozen complaints with the Civil Guard in the first month inspection campaign to prevent fraud through manipulation of meters of drinking water, the councilor responsible for the Municipal Water Service, Antonia Camacho.

The Municipal Water Service, in collaboration with the local police, began in early October an inspection campaign to persecute handling accountants and other procedures that are hurting picaresque service performance and the general interest of users and subscribers, as they reported by local sources in a statement.

The initiative, which is permanent in time, is having good results in promoting "with rigor" an efficient and effective performance of service networks;

and for this, we must prevent situations that hurt most neighbors compliant and proper use of these.

To date the municipal officers, with the help of agents Totana Local Police have identified a dozen cases in different parts of the municipality, which led the Consistory to process the relevant allegations, as he said on the occasion of beginning thereof.

The mayor reiterated the need to advocate for a "rational and responsible use" service so requested "civic collaboration" of subscribers.

Moreover, he insisted that this initiative is not nothing but fraud encounter situations that are occurring and that does not allow us to determine whether the network performance is deficient due to breakdowns or existing picaresque in some cases.

Most cases involve subscribers who have clandestinely manipulated water meters and illegal connections have been made by installing hoses to the grid.

These situations carry the relevant police report and are initially evaluated by the municipal legal services to meet legal or procedural consequences of these reprehensible and divisive with other citizenship behaviors.

These situations have already found in swimming pools, cottages, farms and homes located in rural areas;

The council stressed that this action "not against anyone or has spirit to pursue any neighbor" and reiterated that "only aims to encourage the percentage of network performance and defending users who act according to the law" .
