A total of 15 people have started job-training program of "geriatric care to dependent people in social institutions" through which they will work a year and get the certificate of professionalism.
To carry out this program of work the Regional Employment and Training (SEF) has awarded the City of Totana a grant of 219,274 euros.
The Mayor of Totana, Isabel Maria Sanchez, along with Councillor for Education and Employment, Maria Jose Baeza, and the director general of SEF, Alejandro Zamora, have welcomed students of the course starting today his classes at the Center Local Development.
The Councillor for Education and Employment, María José Baeza, explained during the welcome that the aim of this project is to assist dependents in the geriatric field of Totana, applying the strategies designed by the competent interdisciplinary team and procedures to maintain personal autonomy and their relationships with the environment.
The mixed employment-training program lasts for one year, with a total of 1,920 hours, of which 370 hours will be theoretical and practical 1,478.
Also included 78 hours of additional training with training activities on computer literacy, prevention of occupational hazards, environmental awareness, unit of social economy and self-employment, gender equality module and search module resources and improving employment.
The mayor explained that this is a request under employment plan 2015 in which 70 specific lines of action were proposed to enhance the competitiveness of enterprises and the creation of jobs initiative.
Sánchez Ruiz recalled that Totana is the fourth municipality in the region with fewer unemployed, but the "local administration must continue to ensure that the employment rate down as much as possible".
In this regard, he stated that the courses are being launched in the town are aimed at training people through new emerging fields such as Sociosanitarias Care.
