The councilors of Social Care and Health, Marķa Josefa Sanchez and Eulalia Sandoval attended last Friday at the closing ceremony of XXV Hemophilia Training Conference held in the Centre for Lifelong Learning in Hemophilia "Brothers Manuel and Javier Moreno" of urbanization "The Pond" Totana.
This time, the camp houses about 50 children from different parts of Spain including 40 children and 10 carriers girls have had during their stay in the center with the support and supervision of 25 professionals among whom were physicians, physiotherapists and psychologists, among others.
Dr. Manuel Moreno, alma mater of the Center for Lifelong Learning in Hemophilia, emphasized that, despite the economic crisis has not diminished one iota resources for the fight against this disease and the kids are guaranteed affected appropriate treatment, allowing in most cases have a quality similar to that of a normal child life.
Hemophilia, known as a rare disease, is a hereditary, sex-linked X chromosome that affects and manifests with internal or external bleeding genetic pathology.
Hemophilia is inherited from females who are carriers, and suffered by men.
At present, in the region there are 80 patients diagnosed with hemophilia and a hundred women with the disease, so that the data show a tendency to stability in recent years, with a similar incidence than the national average.
