More than 9,000 people have used the free services provided by the Municipal Library, located in the Centro Sociocultural "Jail" in the first seven months of the year.
Specifically, they have been more than 400 users who have used the loan service making a total of 5553 loans.
Among the objectives of the Department of Culture, among which promote and encourage reading during the months of February, March, April and May of this year, according to sources from the Department have made a total of 28 sessions animations to reading.
These sessions have been arranged with the schools of the locality and the courses involved have been 1 °, 2 ° and 3 ° of primary and nursery schools in the municipality for a total of 634 students who helped with the project.
The animations have been conducted with library staff and the collaboration of Morerica Galan Totana natural writer.
In this line, to mark the day the book is organized several activities including the Book Fair, two sessions of Storytelling in the exhibition hall Gregorio Cebrian and continuous reading session of texts written by local authors.
The cultural program of the first half of 2013 organized from the Municipal Library has completed the launch of the book club Totana library, activity very well received by the reading public and that has made it possible to read and discussion of works such as "The last meeting of Sandor Marai," and "The path of Miguel Delibes".
For the month of September have provided in-depth reading of the work of Brooklyn Follies by Paul Auster.
The Municipal Library Sociocultural Center "Jail" will be closed from 5 to August 23 and will open on August 26 from 8:30 to 14:00 and afternoons closed.
From September, the schedule will be Monday through Friday mornings from 9:30 to 14:00 AM and afternoons 17:00 to 20:00 hours.
