City authorities have unveiled the new municipal home help which became operational in Totana last May and, today, serves a total of 47 users of the town.
The new service is funded exclusively by the Consistory totanera, which has a budget of 60,000 euros per year, since the other state and regional administrations have failed to co-fund the service.
Since last year, as a result of budget constraints, the City has failed to receive the grant, so you assume the entire cost of the service, except for the terms of the co-payment from users.
The home help service was awarded to the company "FITOMUR Cooperative Society"-after the previous contract with the entity, and was launched by the City as a basic provision of social services, doubling the budget for therein.
The service is provided every day, including weekends and holidays from 8-20 hours, and the template is incorporated in Totana by a social worker who is the coordinator of services, a social educator and eleven auxiliary home.
The new company supports certain interventions conducted Totana Social Services with families who have problems of coexistence and protection of its most vulnerable members.
It also works on strengthening training and education actions on health habits, hygiene, housekeeping and other cases that may be required.
The Social Care Councillor, Josefa Maria Sanchez, explained that with this "new" service, as has been done with similar that complement such as meals on wheels and telecare, the council aims to ensure minimal attention and quality elder or dependent person in need and can not afford it because of their socioeconomic status or who can not access other resources, such as the Law of the Unit.
