The IES "Prado Mayor" Totana hosted last week a few presentations to realize the project "Agrégate" within the program that encourages youth correspondents good practice and increases the benefits of these communication channels

The talks were given by a psychologist and technical information and documentation from the Directorate General of Domestic Violence Prevention, Youth, and Reform Legal Protection of Minors.

The sessions were aimed at students in 3 and 4 of the ESO, the guardians of these courses and guidance from the center, the parents of those students, young correspondents, director of IES and Informajoven technique.

'Agrégate' aims to involve young people, parents, educators and youth information on activities and educational activities to inform of the risks and opportunities that social networks

The Community, through the Ministry of the Presidency and the Ministry of Education has launched the educational project 'Agrégate', an initiative to promote the optimal use of social networks and increase the benefits of this communication tool, with the order to minimize risks to children.

This is a pioneering initiative to design a socio-educational intervention program to educate in the use of Information Technology and Communication and, especially, in social networks to further involve them in the leisure and entertainment, are used as tool for information and participation.

Its primary objective is to involve children, parents, educators and youth information on activities, resources and educational activities to inform users of social networks, especially teens, about the risks and opportunities of these communication channels.

The 'Agrégate' start this school year 2011/12 involving a total of 1,168 students of 3 rd and 4 th High School IES centers Valley Leiva (Alhama de Murcia), IES Vicente Medina (Archena), IES The Albares (Cieza), IES Infanta Elena (Jumilla) and IES Prado Mayor (Totana), respectively.

The selected schools have collaborated on programs of decentralization of information, such as 'Youth Correspondent', and also use of ICT in learning processes of students, such as 'Classroom XXI'.

The program will include workshops and lectures for students, parents, educators and youth information, to learn and reflect on the presence of minors in social networks, improve their participation and to avoid prejudice in school performance.
