The Civil Guard will serve from this next week in premises provided by the City of Totana the Ministry of Interior in the old school "Juan de la Cierva", located on Avenue of the town of Lorca, while executing the works settlement of Totana Barracks because of damage caused after the May earthquake.
A total of three large classrooms on the ground floor of the center will be used as temporary headquarters of the Civil Guard barracks in this city, while advancing emergency works for the rehabilitation of barracks room at the Redondo Lieutenant Perez, who suffered major damage materials within this infrastructure.
Councilman Security, Francisco Hernandez, said the relocation of the existing building Civil Guard barracks at Old Institute was conducted during the past week after the conclusion of the installation of various communication systems necessary.
This transfer is done in conjunction with works on the deck of the barracks and shoring up several areas for the recovery of this infrastructure.
The mayor explained that, at least for the next three months this body will remain in service in the former premises of the institute.
The rehabilitation and improvement of the barracks has a deadline of six months and is being executed by a unit venture (JV).
Today, the former Civil Defence IES hosts the headquarters of some agricultural organizations and various associations and social groups in this county.
