The mayor, Isabel Maria Sanchez, met recently with the Minister of Public Works and Planning, Antonio Seville, to ensure progress in processing the document allowing the final approval of the City General Plan and to address other issues affecting the town of Totana, whose meeting was also attended by the Councillor for Infrastructure, Maria Jose Bedia.
The mayor welcomed the willingness of the owner of Public Works and Planning and recalled that the Consistory has been working since the beginning of this term by the hand of the competent Ministries of the Autonomous Region in carrying out the work nde PGMO correction, both level political support and technical guidance, in order "to expedite definitively a crucial tool for the future of the municipality."
In May 2011, the Ministry of Public Works and Planning Order gave final approval to a lack of partial correction of deficiencies PGMO Totana, so now corresponds to the Council preparing a consolidated text that incorporates the corrections and adjustments the planning instrument referred to the guidelines set by regional bodies.
Sanchez reiterated that, to this, was established a multidisciplinary team that is devoted almost exclusively to the development of this work and has the support of technical and legal staff of the Autonomous Community.
He reported also held meetings with the Ministry of the Presidency to advance the technical and legal work possible to promote the plan, which focus on a review of some aspects of the Environmental Impact Statement, in order to boost final approval.
The mayor described as "fundamental" Totana the General Plan for their social, urban and environmental, so "urges planning to adapt the environmental and social reality of the region".
Other projects of interest
The councilor also discussed with the counselor Seville other projects of interest to the town of Totana, as the beginning of the drafting work of the Western Beltway Totana by the region.
Also discussed the drafting of the pedestrianization of the square of the Constitution by the Consistory to assess the future viability of the project in the future.
