Totana City Council initiated the file to declare the Procession of the Holy and Regional Tourist Interest.
This has been explained Totana Mayor, Isabel Maria Sanchez, after the filing of the motion to be debated in full for the month of January, which will take place on Thursday 26.
Sanchez Ruiz pointed out that after the technical analysis of the previous proposal to start this record as festivities which reflected that technically does not meet the characteristics for this statement, it was decided to centralize all the efforts in the Pilgrimage of Santa Eulalia (both the upstream and downstream), thus proposing an amendment to the agreement before the plenary.
Thus, having agreed with the Foundation's Santa, it will start working on achieving this holiday is declared of regional interest, since as stated by the mayor, is one of the traditions that showcase the idiosyncrasies of the municipality.
Sanchez Ruiz has indicated that, although this event is recognized regionally by the massive participation of people and their devotion to Santa Eulalia, it is necessary to officially give this award to make it more important to the regional level.
