The Councillor for Education, Maria Josefa Sanchez Mendez, explained that the four local primary schools begin their classes as normal on the 9th of January.

Despite reports that have been made in recent days in the course snack closing schools for children, the mayor stressed that the commitment of the government team is to keep this education in the town with the best guarantees for parents and students, so that at no time raised the slightest possibility of closing these schools.

Sanchez Mendez indicated that before the open tender process for the outsourcing of three of these schools have been contracted by the City for the first days of January to 13 early childhood educators for the service is fully covered, until the new service concessionaire take control of it.

These people are not who attend the bidding process, have been recruited through employment exchange of the municipal area.

In this regard, he indicated that this decision also responds to the advisability of conducting a more effective public expenditure, taking into account the difficult economic situation in which the town hall so it was decided to advocate for this form of management to ensure their maintenance, so that the service continues to be provided with maximum guarantees, he added.

Sanchez Mendez recalled that during the summer months have held many meetings with AMPAS, teachers and concerned parents to inform them of the various administrative procedures and open procedure for tendering.

The management system of the new company will be evaluated by the City, because, according to the charge of this area, at no time will cease to be a municipal service, as the title to all primary schools will remain public.

Given this state of transition in the management model, the mayor reiterated that parents will not share increased during this school year, but this will happen as early as next year to coincide with the start of the new school year, a difference that is paid by the City until the end of this course.

However, the mayor explained that the City wants to maintain this service with the highest quality and with the conviction that no Infant School will close its doors, said while it is a referral service to other municipalities in the region.
