The City Council urges pet owners to withdraw the droppings of the street to avoid neighborhood complaints and administrative sanctions

Totana Local Police has intensified in recent weeks, both uniformed and undercover agents, surveillance in the urban roads in compliance with the Municipal Urban Hygiene and Protection and Animal Holding Company.

According to police sources, since January 2011 and to date, agents have conducted 96 open disciplinary proceedings for various violations of municipal regulations.

The most common reasons are for throwing glasses and other objects in the street, urinating in public, taking out trash in days and hours are not allowed, not picking up pet droppings road, placing posters without permission relevant by distributing pamphlets and advertising without the required permit, among others.

The penalties imposed for these offenses range up to 750 euros for those considered mild, up to 1,500 euros for the serious and up to 3,000 euros for the most serious.

Public awareness

The Urban Hygiene ordinance states that animal owners are responsible for damage or disease to people and things and any action that causes the dirt in the streets and in the absence of the owner, will be responsible for accompanying the animal at the time of the action.

According collects municipal ordinance, municipal officials are entitled, at any time to require the owner or holder of the animal the immediate repair of the disease caused.

Not removing the droppings of the street is considered a minor offense as both ordinances and may be fined up to 600 euros.
