The Mayor of Totana, Isabel Maria Sanchez Ruiz, and Councilman Young, Bartholomew Pallares, attended an emotional ceremony in the plenary hall where more than twenty students representing different schools in the area have joined their voices and proceeded to read a manifesto on the occasion of the celebration of "International Day of Children's Rights."
Students in 6 of Primary Education schools "Reina Sofía", "The Miracle", "Santa Eulalia", "Santiago" and "The Cross" have reflected on the ten principles of the Rights of the Child that guide many nations of the world and were the November 20, 1959 by the General Assembly of the United Nations.
The students, during their turn to speak, explained that thousands of children as they live in poverty, homeless, without legal protection, without access to education, neglect and affected by diseases.
They have also stressed that the United Nations text should serve all those states that want to care for their youngest citizens and offer a good quality of life.
In this regard, as policy makers have indicated the rights afforded to all children in the world, so this is a long-term challenge for every country, every institution, every community and every individual.
For this reason, recalled that the City Council of Totana, together with associations Mifito, Padisito, D'Genes, and Adipsai are scheduled for November 20 morning activities and workshops at the Plaza de la Balsa Vieja.
At the end of the act, has delivered a series of gifts to children who had participated in the reading of the manifesto.
