Councilman Agriculture and Water, Diego Muñoz, lamented that the Segura River Basin do not assume the cleaning, maintenance and fumigation Guadalentín river passing through the town of Totana during the summer months, causing many insect problems to residents and farmers in the area.
Muñoz reported that the CHS has recently reported the City Council that this body has undertaken the reconstruction of the low water channel, thereby facilitating the evacuation of the water circulating through it, as well as eliminating the drainage works drainage basins formed .
The council had to be recalled that the City Council early last June, which encourage and promote an emergency plan for the insect pest of mosquitoes caused by stagnant water in the river Guadalentín.
He noted that this situation produces every year a great unrest among the residents and disadvantages to the area near the flow of cattle.
This action took place at the end of the previous legislature with the help and generous collaboration on the part of neighboring areas and Lebor Raiguero who are suffering the plague of mosquitoes, while the CHS requested their cooperation.
