Last week, from day 1 to 7 August, the Association of Parents of Mentally Handicapped of Totana, PADISITO, held its traditional summer camp aimed at this group.
It is already the fourteenth consecutive year that made this program and its main intention is to offer alternative and complementary activities in this holiday period for persons with intellectual disabilities and their families, with the ultimate aim of improving the quality of life of the collective in general.
The different activities taking place during this week of camp enable and facilitate specifically implement the collective social integration, and promote and develop other areas such as personal autonomy, social interaction, self-management, etc. ..
From this perspective and the basis of a code of ethics that governs the association and providing quality service in which raw individualized treatment of each participant is engaged in playful, whose pace of development make the participants being the ones who guide the various activities performed.
Have been a total of 15 people with intellectual disabilities that have participated in this year's summer camp, number higher than previous years and were accompanied by volunteers of the association, which since PADISITO grateful for your cooperation because without they would not be feasible to carry out this activity.
As in previous years have been recreational activities, among which are the games in the pool, night hiking, board games ... Likewise, cultural visits were made to the surrounding villages, knowing cultures and traditions.
A workshop highlighting the novelty toiletries, personal care and makeup has also performed this year.
Collaboration again thank all the people that one form or another have made possible the development of this activity, which is an important and essential service to this community at this time of year, and is the result of hard work and efforts of all parents who make up this association so that year after year to continue this activity.
