Totana City Council has informed the social groups and associations of geriatric field and educational work in the city this year will not be made the call for grants for the year 2011, given the current economic situation in the Consistory and in measures austerity set for the sanitation of the municipal coffers.

The mayor, Isabel Maria Sanchez, and the councilors of Social Care, Education and Citizen Participation, Josefa Maria Sanchez, and the Health and Women, Eulalia Sandoval, held an informational meeting in the plenary hall to explain the new measures associative temporary and transient to be applied to overcome the liquidity available.

The authorities realized the economic and financial situation of the Consistory and the new organizational and administrative structure for the 2011/15 term, and the municipal government salaries and staff confidence and exposed the inability to split the payment of debt to the negative associations of banks.

More measures to parties neighborhoods and districts

The municipal government has already explained a few weeks ago to neighborhood associations and mayors-headman new measures logistical and material support to take effect from next year to celebrate the festivities.

It was reported that upon completion of the entire calendar of festivals in neighborhoods and districts, as of October 5 this year, will agree with the associations and neighborhood groups, a document that will determine the logistical support offered by the City Council to celebrate the festivities as material elements and scenarios, electrical and lighting supports, cleaning device and security, among others.

The City Council has cut more than 50% of the budget in the festival program of St. James, from nearly 50,000 to 22,000 euros.
