The Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, escorted by the councilman of Social Welfare, Juan Carrion, yesterday received a special nomination during the gala of "Laurel Award" organized by the Federation of Organisations for Persons with Disabilities Cerebral Palsy Intellectual Murcia (FEAPS) for his contribution to the comprehensive social and employment of people with intellectual disabilities.
The event was held in the auditorium of the CROEM was also attended by Minister of Education, Training and Employment, Constantine Sotoca, and other award-winning regional and local authorities, including the Consistory totanero.
The Federation of Organizations for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities and Cerebral Palsy was awarded to four companies and two institutions with their awards Laurel to the employment of this group.
In what is the fifteenth edition of the awards, prizes were awarded to AES Energy Cartagena, RLM-Alejandro Sanz, Diego Zamora Group, Spruce Group, the Local Youth Council of Murcia and the School of Marine Corps' General Albacete and Fuster. "
Each of these entities is well recognized their efforts to create employment for people with intellectual disabilities to facilitate their training, work experience training, etcetera.
All of them have received the award at a ceremony made possible by the cooperation of the Directorate General of Labour and has been chaired by the Minister of Education, Training and Employment, Constantine Sotoca.
These awards are given by the non-profit associations that offer employment services to work to facilitate the inclusion of these workers in mainstream companies.
The award-winning companies and institutions are an example of the commitment to disabled workers either by hiring, promoting internships or acquiring products from Special Employment Centres.
