Totana has today a new library named "José María Munuera and Abbey, built in the neighborhood of El Parral, which will open soon to the public with the library collection of over 2,500 books, initially.
The Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, has been commissioned to inaugurate the library along with the mayor of Culture, Esther Esparza, and the secretary general of the Government Office, Juan José Camarasa.
With these works promoting the neighborhood of El Parral, an educational center which also houses the Centre for Child Care "Pepita López Gandía" IES "Juan de la Cierva", two schools and new construction to replace the Colegio de La Cruz.
The works have consisted with a budget of 601,589 euros, funded through the Local Investment Fund.
The new library building has two floors with a total built area of ​​600 square meters.
In the upper floor houses the library with two distinct sections, one for adults and a child, and downstairs is installed a study room of 66 square meters, with capacity for 60 people.
Building, which is projected on a plot of 1,200 meters, transfer to the municipality, has been built adapted for people with physical disabilities, including, adapted toilets and changing rooms and ramps in all areas with slopes.
It also has room for children, computers and periodicals.
