A score of unemployed expand their job training through two courses that have been initiated in the framework of the "Labor, a step towards the employability", carried by the collective capo "The Candle."
The course "Introduction to Computers" which began on day 19 and is taught in units of the computer room of the Social Center of San Roque, and the training course on "Social Skills" which started on Monday January 24 takes place at the offices of the Department of Citizenship and runs until Feb. 25 with a total of 60 hours.
Selected participants are working among other things, the verbal and nonverbal communication, active listening, self-awareness, interpersonal relationships, conflict and ways to address them.
They are also taking steps in matters relating to decision making, framed in the employment situation of our municipality and in the different occupations that aspire to cover participants.
The work carried out within the training area is designed to facilitate and train participants in basic social skills to perform a job, is complemented by the design of individual integration pathways, developed through individual tutoring guidance, support and monitoring.
Since its inception, the technical team of the Labor Project has addressed the accompanying process of job search from a comprehensive perspective, for this reason, in addition to providing information and training for the unemployed, by educational psychology team.
Also, the jobs working locally with the business, staying in constant contact with employers, raising awareness among employers of social responsibility and employment gaps detected even in cases deemed necessary, accompanying workers in the process of joining the job.
Moreover, the socio team, takes charge of comprehensive social care of all project participants, informing them about local resources, made together in those cases where necessary, intervening on issues or conflicts with the environment , etc.
