Over 400 children participate in recreational and educational activities and educational support classes that are held in five of the town of Totana Edutec.
Small, along with their families, enjoyed yesterday's end of season party held at the Edutec of El Parral in which tasted a healthy snack with the cooperation of supermarket Consum.
The councilman of Youth, Juan Antonio area together with those responsible for the coordination of the Collective Edutec Social Promotion "The Candle", visited the activities that have taken place as the culmination of this activity.
The mayor explained that Edutec have a daily average number of participants over 150 children in the activities offered and this year have been collected more than 400 entries since opening in April.
This initiative, carried out by the Collective for Social Promotion "The Candle" and driven by the Youth Council, is funded by the Spanish Plan for Stimulating the Economy and Employment.
This program nationwide and is conceived as a hotline for children and young people of the municipality in its own environment, encouraging active participation of the population as a reference area and creating meeting places near neighbors.
The mayor of Youth appreciated the work of professionals who work daily with children in this program, which serves as a further boost in the line of work and family concilación as many neighbors who put their Totana confidence in these professionals for several hours a week.
The Edutec, four are in the urban area and one in El Paretón, have two different spaces, in the play area are several activities that can be performed, since the programming includes various themes on which work through monthly games, workshops and guided by the monitors.
You can also find games, play-station, craft workshops, movies, tournaments, ping-pong, football, and all within the best environment, inclusive, intercultural and above all respectful to all participants.
Specifically, for the last quarter of 2010 were the subjects of hygiene and physical health, environmental awareness and environmental education through the different seasons.
On the other hand, Strengthening Education Classrooms are equipped to study and carry out assignments and whose leaders serve doubts in the implementation of those tasks, help prepare for exams, offering support in the subjects in which needs, while providing supplementary educational material and keep track of students.
The mayor announced that the Youth City Council is already working on finding funding to implement the Edutec again next year.
