The Youth Council will present a motion at Full Council to be held on Thursday 25 November, to approve the Municipal Youth Plan, which contains the largest cast in Totana sensitivities in relation to the needs of young people Totana.
The development of this Plan, as reported by the council of the Department, Juan Antonio Ambit, has not been an easy task and its purpose is to provide a quality response to the greatest number of needs and concerns expressed by young people.
This plan is a starting point and as reference the Youth Survey of Totana promoted by the Youth Council and conducted by the Cooperative La Llave Social Promotion.
That report, Ambit, has served as a seed for the organization of the design of the Plan and has paved the way for its construction.
The sections that make up the Municipal Youth Plan Totana are the result of the various issues covered by the study itself that fall into seven main areas, with their respective objectives and proposed actions such as the areas of Employment, Empowerment and Housing, Family Education and Training, Health, Culture and Leisure and Participation.
The conclusions of the study, which surveyed 509 of the total of 7,321 young people registered in the town aged between 15 and 29, have been supplemented with those obtained from the application of the methodology used in the design of this Plan , said the mayor.
Also, the mayor said a key factor in the proposed design has been the participation and for it drew a combined methodology of qualitative and quantitative, using three methodological tools: individual interviews, group interviews and group debate by organizing a day of reflection.
In this regard, he added that access to housing and employment are the issues that matter most to young people aged between 15 and 30 years of Totana, as reveals the first study on the situation of youth in municipality.
The mayor stressed the need for study and implementation of this plan, because "so far had not envisaged such a comprehensive study to take out to float the most significant aspects of youth totanera, to serve to know what the reality of young people in the municipality and constituting a reference tool for the development of future actions, undertaken both by the City Council, as from associations and the social fabric. "
With the implementation of this Plan, Ambit indicated that the municipality will provide a framework instrument that gives meaning to the youth policy of the City.
