On Sunday November 14, 2010 the youth of the parish of Santiago joined the Caritas Project "Sponsor a child in Peru," organizing a solidarity for the benefit of this project in the Chapel of Santa Eulalia.
The project is to improve the living conditions of children orphaned, sick or disabled in the poorest areas of Peru through the financial contribution of 25 € per month.
The child or the child receive medical care, medicines, food and school transport.
The day passed in a pleasant and there were several citizens of Totana and other towns who had the opportunity to make their personal contribution to the project as well as more detailed information about its objectives, thanks to information given by the volunteers responsible for this initiative.
During the morning, and offer products for sale, leaflets were distributed to visitors to the surroundings of La Santa, a task that was developed by the youth of the parish who are fully involved with this social work.
"We use this medium to thank the involvement of people who contributed to this cause and we also want to pay special tribute to the Tuna de Totana, who, at the end of the Eucharist, we are treated to a lively songs."
The donations raised will be spent on a project to build a rehabilitation center for children with disabilities in Peru.
If anyone is interested in giving their financial contribution or help with your contribution will also be next Sunday November 21 in the morning in the Chapel of Santa Eulalia.
Caritas social service fully control the proper use of your money.
