Over forty young people involved in the project "Integration of children and youth rehabilitative or at risk of social exclusion", undertaken by the Department of Social Welfare and Citizenship and funded by the Directorate of Integration of Immigrants, Ministry of Labour and Immigration.
The mayor of Social Welfare, Juan Carrión, explained that the project's main objective is to promote and make the learning process of children between 12 and 16 years (immigrant and native) from disadvantageous family and social contexts and educational level have deficits , family and community, enhancing their capabilities, social participation and citizen coexistence, among other actions.
During the project, being conducted workshops on study skills, educational support, cultural activities, sports and other positive occupation of free time they have been focused on the knowledge of local resources (Totana closer) and knowledge of regional social fabric that works on Youth (Youth Zone Tour-Caravaca de la Cruz).
Carrión considers positive actions so far undertaken and reports that have provided a number of other capabilities that enhance social and educational activities, skills and attitudes to the inclusion in order to prevent future occurrence of situations of exclusion, vulnerability and social conflict.
