The Union of farmers and ranchers of the Guadalentín low (CoaG) presents its new directive to the mayor of Totana and asks for support to try the reduction of modules in different crops in our region.
The route of the AVE, the high voltage line, the General Plan, the water problem and the maintenance of some agricultural roads are the problems that concern the farmers and were discussed with Mayor Andrés García and Councilman Víctor Balsas.

The representatives of the farmers put on the table the issue of the modules, especially vegetables, which has not been reduced this year by the Ministry for our region, pledging the Mayor to try to take a joint motion of all representatives of the town hall to the next plenary session that supports this reduction, so necessary because of the situation of our farmers.
The issue of the AVE was also discussed, where the President of the UAG, Antonio Costa, requested that the consensus of all the political groups be sought for the benefit of the expropriated who will mostly be farmers, who will suffer a painful expropriation process They are not liked by anyone.
Among other issues, the mayor reported on the situation in which the high-voltage line is located that will be so damaging to our fields, and which apparently follows its process.
In this sense we knew the progress of the solar field that will be installed in our town and far from resembling the damage that the line will cause, it will generate social and economic benefits for our people without causing harm to farmers.
The leaders asked for the elimination of the rustic IBI, since the situation of drought and the prices of the products have been quite bad this year 2017, which the Mayor undertook to study.
Regarding the conditions of the agricultural roads, the union representatives offered themselves to the councilor to explore those roads that are most in need of repairs.
Finally there was talk of water, asking the President of COAG to take seriously the possibility of collecting the waters of our watercourses, which would entail a double benefit, avoiding floods and providing water to the irrigators.
The meeting concluded by summoning the parties to collaborate in all that is necessary, keeping the telephones open, for the benefit of the farmers of Totana.
