Artisans, merchants and hoteliers coordinate efforts to organize a new edition of the Handicraft Fair of Totana in March, giving continuity to the one held a year ago although improving some aspects that favor the different professional sectors involved.
For this reason, on November 23 there was a working meeting at the City Council, convened by the Councilor for Trade and Crafts, Antonia Camacho Crespo, to have a first contact with the artisan, commercial and hospitality sector of the municipality, with the aim of laying the organizational foundations of this meeting.
The next Handicraft Fair would take place from March 16 to 19 next year, coinciding with the festivity of San José, patron of artisans, just as happened last year.
With the celebration of this fair is intended that not only cover the pottery sector of Totana, but that it also has room for other artisan crafts, gastronomic and commercial offer of our municipality.
Totana artisans and took their pieces to the street last year coinciding with the 1st Fair Alfarera of this town that was held on the weekend of 17 to 19 March in the Plaza de la Balsa Vieja, and with which it was intended to inform society about the professional activity carried out by this important traditional sector of the local economy.
The fair was also held on the occasion of the Day of the Potter that is commemorated every March 19 and aims to disseminate the benefits of this artisan trade between neighbors and visitors through different activities.
The fair was organized by the Department of Crafts and had the collaboration of the Association of Artisans of Totana (ASART), as well as the invaluable involvement of local potters who have wanted to meet in the exhibition.
