The Department of Works and Infrastructure are developing an ambitious plan of crash cleaning of roads in the network of rural roads and the arrangement of playgrounds in parks and gardens, taking advantage of the program "District Councils" for this municipality.
Currently, the personnel hired under this program is proceeding to clean the roads of Los Secanos, El Bosque, Ciudad Deportiva, La Santa RM-502 and N-340, among others.
In this first phase of contracting, more than 15 kilometers of rural roads in the municipality will be cleaned, although a total of 31 kilometers are planned to be completed).
They are also arranging playgrounds in the parks and gardens of the city and the districts, as well as the rehabilitation of games and repair of banks, as in the case of the municipal park.
Among these we have proceeded, similarly, to the conditioning of the parks of the "Blue Garden" (next to the Convent of the Three Hail Marys) where it will be expanded with more games at the beginning of next year- and "Los Conquistadores" (together to the CEIP "Comarcal-Deitania").
In addition, the paving actions of the pavements and parterres of the Juan Carlos I avenue are being undertaken, basically those spaces that affect the stretch between the roundabouts of the "Kabuki" and the "Donor of Blood".
In those days, the installation and coating of sidewalks in a stretch of more than 100 meters, at the height of the Tirol-Camilleri neighborhood, in order to adapt the urban crossing.
The totanero Consistory has received a total of 361,464.21 euros from the Ministry of Employment and Social Security, through the Public State Employment Service (SEPE), within the said program, to promote the agricultural employment of temporary workers of the Special System of Workers Agrarian in depressed rural areas;
and that will allow to hire 11 5 workers who will carry out works of projects of general and social interest in this municipality.
This program fulfills the double function of favoring the training and professional practice of the unemployed, and the subsidy basically goes to finance the salary costs and the business contribution of unemployed contracted workers.
The execution of the actions of the "District Councils" program must coincide with periods of low agricultural activity, which favors the work of the agricultural workers outside the campaigns.
The works that are being carried out and are going to be carried out in this municipality basically refer to the cleaning of ramblas and rural roads, the arrangement of parks and gardens and the conditioning of sidewalks;
and are undertaken in two shifts of three months between October and March, respectively.
