The Ministry of Presidency and Development, through the General Direction of Roads, is undertaking during this month of July a performance of repair of the firm in the regional road RM-503, that unites the localities of Aledo and Bullas, that adds to Those made in that way the last two years.
In this way, road safety is substantially improved in the indicated section, which will facilitate access to the Regional Park and, in due course, the transit of the caravan of the Vuelta Ciclista to Spain, the tenth stage of which will run through that zone August 29.
Thus, it is going to repair the firm in the most traveled part, whose section that has been improved is two and a half kilometers, which separate Aledo with the crossing of the Alquerías that give access to the high category special Collado Bermejo.
This work is thanks to an investment of 40,000 euros invested by the General Direction of Roads on the occasion of the tenth stage of the Vuelta Ciclista to Spain sponsored by the alhameña signature "ElPozo Alimentación".
The stage will cover 171 kilometers leaving from Caravaca de la Cruz on the occasion of the Jubilee Year, passing through Lorca, Totana, Alhama de Murcia, Librilla, going up to the aforementioned Collado Bermejo to descend again to Alhama de Murcia where the meat factory of El Pozo will be a Of the 8 unpublished finals with which this year has the Vuelta Ciclista to Spain.
The planned intervention adds to those developed in the last two years to improve RM-503.
Specifically, the margins were cleaned in 2015, drained and a surface treatment of the firm between kilometers 41.8 and 46.1 within the municipality of Bullas;
While in 2016 a performance of root sanitation and replacement of firm was carried out between kilometers 1.1 and 4.5, in the municipality of Totana.
Both actions had a total cost of 50,000 euros.
The aforementioned road is a third level road that supports an average traffic intensity of 333 vehicles per day in the section between Aledo and Zarzadilla de Totana and 70 vehicles per day in the section between Zarzadilla de Totana and Bullas, More traveled the first three kilometers from Aledo, corresponding to the access to the Regional Park of Sierra Espuña, and the last five kilometers, which reach the town of Bullas.
The road runs through the municipalities of Aledo, Totana, Lorca, Mula and Bullas.
