The mayor, Andrés García Cánovas, recently met with the heads of the two parish Caritas Totana, Rafael Hostench and Lucía Vivancos, in order to learn firsthand the work that these organizations are doing in the municipality and their needs, As well as coordinate joint actions with the Municipal Center of Social Services.
The representatives of Caritas de Santiago and the Three Hail Marys have made known the assistance programs that both parish entities are developing with families living in this municipality, as well as the most pressing problems they have in the short term.
At the meeting, which was a first contact and presentation after the inauguration of the new mayor, attempts have been made to establish the bases for periodic contacts of technical coordination in order to alleviate the means and needs that both organizations have for the Time to serve totan society.
At present, Caritas of Santiago serves more than 300 host families, while Cáritas del Convento does so with approximately 800.
