The publisher of the University of Murcia (EDITUM) will publish the works awarded, henceforth, the Historical Research Prize "Alporchón" Totana by virtue of the agreement reached between the City of Totana and this teaching institution.

The mayor, Juan José Cánovas, accompanied by the councilor of Archive and Historical Heritage, Inmaculada Blázquez, recently signed with the Vice-rector of Communication and Culture of the UMU, Mónica Galdana Pérez Morales, the institutional commitment for which will be carried out this Initiative, promoted by the current municipal government.

EDITUM undertakes, after signing this agreement, to publish the prize-winning work in said prize called by the Consistory totanero, provided that it complies with the requirements established in the terms of the call.

The UMU publisher will award commercial ISBNs to the work in the event of a printed edition, whereas the award of the non-commercial or commercial ISBN for publication (in open access) will be the responsibility of the City Council.

In addition, the university publishing house will design a cover for the award-winning publications, including the EDITUM logo and the sponsor's logo, the City of Totana, which must request each new work for the publication of the prize and send to the Publications Service a Electronic file of the book already layout via web, including in that request the resolution of the jury.

The publisher will subscribe, as the case may be, an editorial contract with the person who owns the rights of exploitation of the work, according to the specifications of the bases of the competition and the others that were derived from law.

Likewise, EDITUM will deliver to the Town Hall totanero, in case of printed edition, the 50 percent of copies of the first print;

While the author will also receive from the publisher 10 percent of the copies of this one.

The Local Government Board has approved a few weeks ago precisely the bases of the IX Prize for Historical Research "Alporchón" that the Department of Archives and Historic Heritage of the City of Totana will recover when the call is officially announced after several years without development, And that is destined to know and to divulge the history of Totana.

The call may be attended by all those who are in possession of the degree of licentiate or graduate in any of its specialties;

And the works presented will be unpublished and will deal with any aspect of the history of the municipality of Totana and its projection on historical, cultural, economic, social or political realities of supralocal character.

The call will be biennial and the awarded work will become property of the City of Totana, which reserves all the rights of publication within three years, after which they will pass entirely to the author or authors.
