Students of the CEIP "Santa Eulalia" Totana, with the collaboration of the Department of Women and Equality of Opportunities, played on Friday May 12, in the Faculty of Education of the University of Murcia, the play about gender violence "More than a pretty face", whose script and representation was in charge of a group of school children and under the direction of an AMPA mother, Eva Tudela.
Both the director of the project and the children were congratulated by the Dean of Social Projection and Students of the School of Education, Marta Gutiérrez, for dealing with a matter so sensitive and carried out with all its reality.
Although in recent years there has been great progress in public policies for equality and non-discrimination in gender, the current reality is still different and these boys and girls together with the mother in charge of representation have wanted to visualize this Social scourge, carrying the motto of "Educate in equality", and that can lead an egalitarian social coexistence, making clear the need for the entire educational community to reflect on this problem.
In addition, next June 15 this work will be premiered completely in the theater of the Center for Sociocultural "La Cárcel", where these students will arrive, palpably, the gender discrimination that still exists in the society that surrounds us and the Need to be aware of their problems, causes, possible solutions, and so on.
