The Councilor for Finance, Ana María Cánovas, has raised a proposal to the full ordinary in April with which is intended to make a budget modification, by credit supplement, of the budget executed in 2016 in order to meet various expenses arising during the present exercise.
This initiative intends to take into account, at current budget, all expenses included in the account called "Creditors for operations pending to be applied to budget" derived from the accounting closure of the 2016 fiscal year, as well as expenses of supplies, works, sentences and arrears of quotas Social Security, among others.
The mayor explained that it is necessary to approve this modification that is proposed given that these are expenses that should not be delayed an additional budget year and apply before the end of the current year.
Likewise, Cánovas has indicated that, in view of the financial situation of the City Council, it is considered appropriate to finance such credit modification using the general cash surplus available for the general government and derived from the settlement of the 2016 budget.
In addition, it has indicated that this modification will be financed with net remaining cash and, as the free balance is not enough, it is proposed to use credit withdrawals from other items of the budget carried over from 2015.
