Totana City Council has promoted during the first year of term institutional arrangements and new measures of non-sexist and equal character in this county, as adherence to the Free Cities Network Traffic in women and children for prostitution.
In this regard, the House demanded a few months ago the central and regional government that actually apply the law, pursuing the trafficking of women and persons, and pimps who are campando on track in clubs and brothels road worldwide known.
Totana has been one of the pioneers in this regard municipalities in the Region of Murcia, and behind him have joined others in the autonomous region.
Totana Town Council, following the example of the Swedish legislation, in no case directs its action against prostituted women or pretend their penalty or sanction, but made available to these women municipal services to get them out of this situation.

Totana Town Council rejects and condemns any attitude, action, demonstration and legislation involving homophobic or transphobic nature.
In addition, it undertakes to promote in the city, from different areas, favorable policies to equal treatment of homosexuals and transsexuals, in defense of their dignity, and encouraging consolidation and recognition of full equality of rights and opportunities.
