Totana City Council has signed an agreement for inter-institutional collaboration with the Consulate General of Ecuador in the region of Murcia in order to facilitate coordination between the two entities and promote collective actions help this resident of this county nationality.
The mayor, Juan José Canovas, accompanied by the first deputy mayor, Andrés García, recently met with the consul of this country in the autonomous community, Cecilia Erique Sarango, in order to reflect this institutional collaboration.
The meeting, which also served as the first point of institutional contact after the formation of the new Municipal Corporation, served to establish bilateral mechanism work with the departments of Citizenship, Immigration and Social Welfare.
Thus, they pledged to work for the spread of the actions that the Consulate is carrying out, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility in relation to the mortgage system and free psychosocial support between different Ecuadorian associations.
According to sources of the Consulate of the Republic of Ecuador in Murcia, the hours of operation of the mortgage counseling is on Mondays, 8:30 to 17:00;
and Tuesdays and Fridays from 11:30 to 19:30 hours, respectively.
In addition, psychosocial support hours are Wednesday through Friday from 17:00 to 19:30 hours.

Also, Totana Town Council will work through the departments of Social Welfare and Immigration and Consular Office on issues such as social vulnerability, which would cover residents in Totana with no family socioeconomic problems in their environment and wishing to return to Ecuador, younger patients admitted to detention centers and repatriation of corpses, among other issues.
There are also plans to collaborate in the launching of campaigns against violence against women and against bullying in schools and colleges aimed at the foreign population in this county.
