The Verónica Headquarters was the place where the Extraordinary General Meeting of this Brotherhood was held for the election of a new president on November 23.
Candidates had to submit their applications to the Electoral Board until November 5.
A record that only included the candidacy presented by Ãgueda Muñoz Tudela, sister of the brotherhood and official of the town hall of our town, accompanied by Mª Isabel Sánchez Costa as Vice President, Jerónimo Costa Rodríguez as Treasurer and Serafín Ríos Tudela as Secretary.
The Extraordinary General Meeting began with a prayer and under the direction of the President of the Electoral Board, accompanied by its Secretary and member, who gave faith to the electoral process.
According to the Statutes of the brotherhood and its Internal Electoral Regulations, since there is only one candidacy, it would be proclaimed as the new President and Board of Directors of the brotherhood.
Next, the ratification of this proposal was submitted by the General Meeting, being accepted by the unanimity of the attendees.
The new President recalled at that time the work of all her predecessors in the position, making a special mention to her father, Francisco Muñoz Costa, thanking the trust that had been placed in her to occupy this important position and requesting collaboration of each and every one of the brothers to continue enlarging the brotherhood of La Verónica.
The elected President may not act as such until confirmed by the diocesan Bishop.
After this procedure, he will announce the composition of his Board of Directors at the next General Meeting where he takes office.
The election of Ãgueda Muñoz as President represents an important milestone in La Verónica, being the first woman to hold this position, giving normality to the integration of Nazarenes and Nazarenes that we live today.
