The new councilor of Mercado Semanal and Plaza de Abastos, Javier Baņos, today wanted to start a round of contacts to introduce the street vendors who constitute this service every Wednesday, starting with the merchants of the food sector.

The mayor has been accompanied on this visit by the municipal technician of the area, with whom he has appeared to solve the problems that arise;

while talking about concerns, suggestions and problems that they present.

In the coming weeks, in order not to interrupt the activity of street vendors, the councilor will continue his visits to other sectors of the weekly market such as clothing, footwear, kitchenware and kitchen, gardening, among others.

The facilities of the weekly market of Totana are made up of rows of stalls on both sides of Alberto Gray Peinado Street and Rambla de la Santa Avenue, with different widths, being the center of the Frailes Bridge.

The commercial offer of the weekly market is very wide and varied, with 203 being the total number of street outlets installed, so that they are distributed according to whether the objects of the sale are food or non-food.

The total of positions dedicated to the sale of food products rises to 70, occupying an area for the sale of 579 linear meters;

and the total number of positions dedicated to the sale of non-food products 133.

The commercial offer of the 70 stalls selling food products is very varied and is distributed as follows: Coffee bar (3), Nuts and legumes (4), Fruits, vegetables and vegetables (42), Spices and herbalism (3), Salted and pickled (6), Breeding animals (1), Sausages and preserves (5), Pastry and bakery (3), Food in general overseas- (2) and Winery (1).

The commercial offer of the 133 stalls for non-food products is also distributed as follows: Household and clothing apparel (90), Leather goods and accessories (5), Flowers and plants (5), Footwear (16), Jewelery (7), Drugstore (2), Hardware, crockery and utensils (5), Toys (1) and Haberdashery (2).
