During the afternoon of yesterday, the Constituent Assembly of the Totana Youth Platform took place at the La Cárcel Sociocultural Center, in which a group of young Totaneros decided to formally establish themselves as a municipal youth association.
The meeting also elected a Board of Directors for the next two years, led by Juan Francisco Torres, who will hold the Presidency.
This is a large team, comprised of young people aged 16 and 22, with a majority of women, and among whom are Mariano Morales in the Vice Presidency and Environment Secretariat, Celia Andreo in the General Secretariat, José Meroño in the Treasury, Alicia López in the Ministry of Sports and Culture, María Martínez in the Ministry of Communication and Natalia Andreo in the Secretariat of School Harassment, LGTBI and Equality.
The statutes of the new entity include: promoting youth participation, representing the youth of the municipality and their interests and trying to build a powerful associative fabric that allows the creation of a Local Youth Council.
One of the tasks that the new Board of Directors has - said its president to Totana.com - is, in the next few days, to prepare a “realistic, road map that responds to the current situation of youth and demonstrates our commitment and how much that we can bring younger people to society â€.
The Totana Youth Platform was presented publicly on August 12 on the occasion of International Youth Day and is defined as an independent and open space for dialogue and cooperation among the youth of the municipality of Totana.
