The Peña Folklorico "La Mantellina" organizes the Festival of Folklore and Traditions "Totana, Kingdom of Murcia";
which will be held on June 14 and 15 with an extensive program of cultural, social and gastronomic promotion activities;
which has the collaboration of the City of Totana, and will concentrate on the fairgrounds.
The councilors of Culture and Handicrafts, Eulalia Moreno and Antonia Camacho, accompanied by representatives of this folkloric rock, Eduardo Monserrat and Rita Munuera, have presented in the emblematic spot of El Rulo the program of activities organized by this entity.
On Friday, June 14 starts the program of activities with the opening of the "Terrenico GÃ¼ertero", a traditional craft fair with traditional prints, ventorrillo with typical tapas and exhibition of regional costumes.
At 9:00 p.m., the 1st Mantellina Contest will be held, where all the interested neighbors can present their mantellina to the jury, in bottles of 75 centiliters to a liter;
and subsequently, a tasting by the public will take place.
Later, at 22:00, there will be the Encuentro de Cuadrillas, in which the Cuadilla de Torres de Cotillas will participate, the Cuadrilla de Zarzadilla de Totana, the Auroros de Lorca and the Cuadrilla de El Paretón.
Then, it will be the activity of "Dance loose" in the vicinity of the ventorrillo installed for this occasion.
The second day of the program will be on Saturday, June 15, and throughout the evening, the "terrenico gÃ¼ertero" will be open with the same activities offered at the weekend, such as spaces for pottery, murciana barracks, photographic exhibition, craft stalls and decorations of an era, fountain, orchard totanero, among others.
That day, at 7:30 p.m., will be the reception of the folkloric groups participating in the plenary hall of the Totana City Council;
and at 20:15, the great "GÃ¼ertero Parade" through the streets of the town, with the participation of floats, folklore groups and traditional groups.
All the activities will be the Totana fairground with the exception of the "GÃ¼ertero Parade", which will depart from the Plaza de la Constitución and will go through Puente and San Antonio streets, to reach the fairgrounds.
In the evening, at 10pm, the X Folklore Festival will be held with the participation of children and youth groups from Puebla del Aljibe in Santa María de los Llanos (Cuenca), Los Muleñicos (Mula), Manuel de Failure of Manzanares (Ciudad Real) and Choirs and Dances "Ciudad de Totana" of the Peña "La Mantellina" of Totana, which will have free admission and Murcia dinner offer for 15 euros.
