The Local Government Board has authorized the expense, at the proposal of the Councilor for Social Welfare, Javier Baņos, for the maintenance of the Aquatic Therapy Service in the Sports Center "MOVE", derived from the participation of the children proposed as priority by the Service of Physiotherapy of the educational centers of Totana during the year 2019.
The available budget will benefit a maximum of 12 students in individual session and 4 in couples session, or in another number as long as budget limits are not exceeded amounting to a total of 3,049.20 euros.
From the Physiotherapy Service that is provided in the educational centers of Totana to children with special educational needs, the need was detected to extend it to those cases with a greater need for stimulation, through therapeutic techniques in the aquatic environment to enhance their psychomotor development.
Participants achieve positive results and maintain the treatment with continuity and complementarity in it, at least throughout the school year;
and that is why since 2017 this program has been promoted to the extent of municipal possibilities.
The "MOVE" Sports Center is willing to facilitate its facilities to provide the necessary service by offering the possibility of developing a weekly session per child, either in individual therapy or in pairs.
