The Local Government Board has recently approved the valued report of the renovation works of the potable water supply pipe to the La Ñorica de Totana deposit, written by the municipal industrial technical engineer;

and declare the availability of the land necessary for the execution of the work.

In addition, a commitment has been made by the City to obtain as many administrative authorizations as are necessary for the execution of said works.

The system of distribution of drinking water to the municipality of Totana is made up of numerous service networks that start from different regulatory deposits (own or from the Commonwealth of the Taibilla Canals) and outlets directly connected to the network in the latter entity.

In several of these outlets, pressure groups (EBAP) are available for the distribution of potable water at higher levels, with the assistance of the corresponding regulatory deposits.

Since the City Council assumes the direct operation of the Water Service, in September 2012, numerous incidents have been studied and analyzed that require carrying out actions in the drinking water infrastructures in order to adapt the facilities to the needs demanded by the subscribers .

In this sense, an anomaly has been observed in the hydraulic performance of the supply pipe to the reservoir of Ñorica, property of the Municipal Water Service, from the intake to the Commonwealth of the Channels of the Taibilla de la Ñorica, because the demand Daily drinking water is higher than the flow rate allowed by the pipe section.

This situation forces to renew the supply pipe to the Ñorica tank, from the MCT outlet of the same name, to increase the hydraulic capacity of the pipeline.

The City Council, as an emergency measure, proceeded to the replacement two years ago to the renovation of a length of approximately 60 meters from the take to MCT.

At the same time, it is planned to install a sufficient diameter so that, with future projection, the peak supply capacity from the current one can be doubled from approximately 21.6 to the future of 50 liters / second.

In this sense, the diameter required for the complete section is 250 mm.

The needs of this valued work are concentrated solely and exclusively on correcting the hydraulic deficit presented by the potable water distribution system of the Ñorica deputation, with the purpose of the supply capacity is greater than the projected demand for a horizon of 30 years

For this, this emergency action is considered motivated by the need to supply the deposit the flow required by the subscribers, since this demand can not be satisfied by the existing pipeline and in the summer period there may be situations of shortages to the subscribers. the increase in demand for drinking water.

The action to be performed involves the occupation of privately owned land, for this purpose the City Council has reached an agreement with the owners, to constitute an aqueduct easement in favor of the City Council, formalized in a public deed before a notary.
